Events and Activities

The Conejo Ski & Sport Club has something going on every week.  The best way to find out what is coming up is to check out the Events Calendar on the right-hand side of the home page.   You will find a summary of activities below to give you an idea of what we have planned throughout the year.  If you have any questions please get in touch with the activity leader posted on each activity’s flier, or Richard Murray at vpmarketing@conejoskiclub.org

Ventura County Hikes and More

We usually plan for one hike a month throughout the year. Most of our hikes are in Ventura County, but we adventure out to Santa Barbara as well as Los Angeles counties. Some hikes we have done in the past are Solstice Canyon in Malibu, Wildwood waterfall in Thousand Oaks, and the former move set for MASH hike. Our urban hikes include tours of Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood Boulevard.

Camping Trips

Lake Cachuma Camping Trip is one of our most popular annual events.  We cook breakfast and dinner each day for the participants. We play games, bike, hike, and have fun.  Music and parties, every night.

Yosemite Camping Trip is an almost annual event held in June. About 70 members and friends camp in Curry Village.  We bike, hike and explore the many amazing trails and features of Yosemite.

Campland in San Diego is the same weekend as the Jimmy Buffet tribute festival in September.  It’s a fun weekend of decorated tents and Jimmy Buffet music.

Holiday Party

Every December we celebrate with a gala where the women dress in their best evening gowns and the men in suits or Tuxedos.  Everyone looks their best at the Holiday Party.  We enjoy drinks, dinner and a lot of dancing.  It’s a wonderful evening at this special time of year.

Picnics

Summer Kick-Off Picnic is usually in May.  Volunteers cook bratwurst, hamburgers, potato salad, and other delicious food.  We play volleyball and have an egg and water balloon toss.  This is more fun than most people can stand.

Sycamore Cove Picnic is in late September, and we serve salmon and chicken.  The salmon is specially caught in Alaska and the chicken is shipped in from a ranch in central Arkansas.   We have a feast at the beach, play volleyball, and have lots of fun, including everyone’s favorite activity: the orange relay….  an unbelievably “touching” activity that is hilarious for the participants as well as the audience.
